MB Builders & Development LLC offers clients across Northern Idaho and the Inland Northwest personalized home construction and remodeling services. From the beginning, our team has believed in providing clients with the best building experience possible. We are detail-oriented and committed to bringing your vision for your home to life. Rich & Mary Boettcher, Owners
Rich was born and raised on a dairy farm in the harsh elements of Northern Minnesota. At an early age, he developed the work ethic that is behind MB Builders today. He and his wife, Mary, moved to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1994. Rich began working for Mick Blakely at MB Builders Inc. in 1995. Together, their efforts brought MB Builders to a level of custom building that is not easily matched. Rich joined Mick as a partner in 2008, and the company name changed slightly to MB Builders and Development LLC. In January of 2014, Mick retired from his position, and Rich and Mary became sole owners.
Mick Blakely, Our Founder
Mick Blakely was raised in North Idaho and has been in the building and development business since 1973. He incorporated as MB Builders in 1990 and enjoyed the challenge of producing custom homes and commercial projects across North Idaho and Kootenai County. Since his retirement, he enjoys spending more time in the beautiful outdoors of North Idaho with his wife and extended family. Mick’s reputation of honesty and integrity over the years is still at the heart of MB Builders today.

Creating Your Dream
From the initial drawings to the final finishing touches, we take care of all the details.
Our professional design team is experienced in creating your blueprint or we are happy to work with your chosen architect.
Throughout the building process, we blend ideas and needs with superior craftsmanship. Whether we are building your new home from the ground up, designing and building your new deck, or simply remodeling your kitchen & master bedroom, we take care to make sure your project is completed with the utmost quality and care.

Your Bid
- - Your bid will be specific. Each item is assigned an exact cost, not “cost + x” or a cost range that creates ambiguity.
- - Your bid will be easy to read. Your bid will not contain industry jargon or unfamiliar terminology. After reading your bid, you will know exactly what is included.
- - Nothing is hidden; you will know all of your costs UP FRONT. Most builders do not purposely mislead their clients, but because their standard estimate is just that; an estimate, cost overruns are common.
Even though our bids are specific, we are flexible with changes. We provide monthly cost updates to show you any new credits, charges, and change orders. We also provide you with the most current schedule.
Our Team
The success of MB Builders is due in part to the fact that many jobs from excavation to the final cleanup are done by permanent employees, some that have been with us for over ten years.
In addition, we also have relationships with experienced craftsmen who have worked with us for many years. These subcontractors include electricians, plumbers, trim carpenters, cabinet makers, etc.
This means that when you hire MB Builders, you also hire a pre-screened and proven team whose work we know and trust

MB Builders has been in business in North Idaho and Kootenai County since 1990. We know our product. We love a challenge. We take pride in our work. For many builders, when the “big stuff” is done, they are done. But for us, we do not consider our job done until all details are completed and signed off.
